Summary

Nepal ko Yuwa and all collaborating organizers of the Walk for Nepal program are committed to integrity and transparency in the management of all funds raised from Walk for Nepal events. At the end of each year, our goal is to have $0 in our account by disbursing all funds collected to our partner organizations and projects.

Partners mobilize their supporters to walk and sponsors the walkers to raise funds for their organizations. All the money raised through sponsoring a walker are distributed to projects in Nepal. Through our 80/20 partnership model, we give back 80% of the amount you donate to our partner NGOs to the partners to work on their projects. 20% of the amount will be added to the WfN Youth Innovation Fund (see No. 3 below).

The WfN Youth Innovation Fund channels the fund to youth innovation and other worthy projects through an online voting process. The winning project receives 50% of the WfN Youth Innovation Fund, the runner up receives 30% and the third-place project receives 20%. Through this innovative model of sharing, each partner NGO recognizes that, in addition to their own, there are many worthy causes in Nepal that need our support. Moreover, through the Walk for Nepal journey, the NGO’s will share ideas and collaborate, thus helping each other grow through a multiplier effect.

Management of Registration Fees Nepal ko Yuwa reserves the right and may choose to preserve left-over funds raised through registration fees and corporate sponsorship for future administrative costs.

Walkers will register with a $15 minimum registration fee. Additional money donated by the walker at the time or registration or later will be considered a donation and shall not be used for administrative/overhead costs. The total registration fee collected may be used by the organizers to cover the administrative cost. But we encourage the organizers to find individual and corporate sponsors to raise money for the admin cost. If all the money collected as registration fee is not used for admin costs, the Local Organizers may split the remainder between the organizations in the same proportion as the number of walkers registered by each organization or donate it to the WfN Youth Innovation Fund. All organizers should let WfN Treasurer know which vendor needs to be paid by when and send the supporting invoice. Treasurer will make either online payments or mail the check to vendors directly or through the local organizer. Organizers will get reimbursed for all outstanding admin costs after the walk.

Management of Individual and Corporate Sponsorship: Nepal ko Yuwa (doing business as Walk for Nepal) is a registered 501 (c) (3) organization and all contributions to Walk for Nepal are tax deductible.
